This program will be held virtually on Zoom from 11AM to 1PM.
The Clinical Conversations are free to members of ASCH, its component sections, and SCEH. There is a $15 fee for nonmembers. All proceeds go to fund the Stephen R. Lankton Scholarship Award.
Description: Rachel will discuss some of the complexities of complex dissociation (primarily Dissociative Identity Disorder [DID] and Otherwise Specified Dissociative Disorder [OSDD]), including but not limited to, tips for spotting dissociation and potential RAMCOA history, assessment, clinical considerations, basic strategies that can be used to work with dissociation, and creative interventions for managing challenging clinical situations related to complex trauma and dissociation. Participants are encouraged to come prepared with non-case specific questions for a collaborative Q&A. Rachel Sage, LCSW-C, primarily provides therapy to folks who experience symptoms of severe/complex dissociation (primarily DID/OSDD) and who have experienced severe + complex trauma and/or Ritual Abuse/Mind Control/Organized Abuse (RAMCOA). Rachel is an EMDRIA Approved Provider and Consultant, holds ASCH certification in Clinical Hypnosis, is fully trained in Deep Brain Reorienting (DBR), and often blends hypnotic interventions throughout their clinical work. In addition to teaching coursework on complex trauma at University of Maryland School of Social Work, Rachel also teaches as a member of Professional Training Program staff at the International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation (ISST-D) and is a Facilitator at ISST-D’s EMDR Basic Training Program.
